Chloe J. Redman
The Outstanding Artist in Dance award recognizes an individual artist whose work within their field has made a significant impact within the discipline locally over five years or more.
Chloe J. Redman is pursuing her M.A. in Arts Administration from The University of Akron and is a recent graduate of The University of Akron’s Dance program, where she earned a B.F.A. in Dance. From age nine through high school, Redman trained at The University of Akron’s Dance Institute under the executive direction of former Cincinnati ballet dancer Christina Foise. Through this pre-professional, ballet-based program, Redman has had opportunities to learn from and work alongside local and international artists, most notably Ohio ballet dancers Damien Highfield and Shauna Conzaman, freelance artist Brian Murphy, Neos Dance Theatre, Verb Ballets, Groundworks DanceTheater, Kegwin and Company, Joseph Morrissey, Le Ballet Jazz de Montreal, and many more.
Currently, Redman is an apprentice with Cleveland Dance Project Company. Outside of her academic studies, Redman is the Artistic Associate, Advanced Teams Coordinator and Teaching Artist with ArtSparks as well as a ballet and pointe instructor at Martell School of Dance and the Second Year Graduate Assistant with The National Center for Choreography at The University of Akron. Most recently, through NCCAkron, Redman has served as a residency assistant with artist Paula Mann. Redman looks forward to weaving her love of dance and administration together as she works towards gaining her M.A. and continuing to pursue teaching and performance for years to come.
