Is there a cost to visit?

Entrance to the building and all exhibitions is free.


Can I purchase art?

Studio artists at both the Akron and Barberton locations sell original artwork and other items out of their own studios; you can see the listing of the artists at the two locations here.

Most art displayed in the exhibitions is for sale and can be purchased. To purchase, please see a volunteer at the gallery desks or contact a Summit Artspace staff member.


What are your hours?

Summit Artspace on East Market
Regular hours are:
Thursday & Friday 12 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Saturday 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Open the first Saturday of the month for Artwalk. Check our Facebook page for times during the pandemic.

Open for 3rd THURSDAY, 4-7 p.m., sponsored by the Downtown Akron Partnership.  (Check for times during the pandemic.)

How do I show my art in one of your galleries?

If you would like to display your artwork in one of our galleries, see our current calls-for-art and enter into one of our juried exhibitions here. For information about a solo or small group show, please email mckenna@summitartspace.org.

Where do I park?

In Akron, free parking is available behind the building and across the street if there is overflow.

In Barberton, there is free parking downtown near the building and along the street.


What is Akron Artwalk?

On the first Saturday of each month from 5 to 9 p.m., Artwalk is a free Akron event with galleries and art studios open at Summit Artspace on East Market and the Northside District. Summit Artspace organizes the event. For more information, click here. Please check our Facebook page for times during the current pandemic.


What is Third Thursday?

3rd Thursday is a monthly event highlighting arts, culture, cuisine and entertainment in downtown Akron. Local artists display their recent and prized creations. Summit Artspace is open from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. every 3rd Thursday. You can find more information from the Downtown Akron Partnership here. How do I join the email newsletter list?

Summit Artspace publishes a regular email newsletter that provides information about new art exhibitions, artist events, calls for submitting artwork, happenings in the studios in our Akron and Barberton locations as well as ways to sign-up for programs. Please send the following information to us via this email address:  editor@summitartspace.orgCopy and paste this list into the email and then complete: EMAIL, FIRST NAME and LAST NAME.


How do I receive exhibition Postcards?

Please send your full name and address including city, state and zip code to us via this email address: info@summitartspace.org. In the subject line, please write, “Add me to your mailing list.”
