Barberton High School

Barberton City Schools has been in session during the COVID era having to distance six feet apart and with staggered start times. It has been challenging.  There have been times where students have had to be home after being in contact or having COVID for two or more weeks working independently at home. Teaching both virtually and in person at times has still been the best situations. Some contact with my students has been better than no contact at all.

These students have worked very har during these trying times to attain AP and Art 3 levels of quality in these art pieces.

AP Art students are: AJ Drillien and Indigo Chargualaf

AP Art is a year-long course where the students have to fill a test portfolio for the College Board. The rating can be 1-5. A typical score is a 3 which will earn them college credit. I learned that there is a level 6 but it is profoundly difficult to achieve.

All other students are in Art 3.

Art 3 is the preparatory course for AP level. The Art 3 students have to come up with a concrete theme to investigate content and media.

The students of Barberton High School would like to thank Summit Artspace for this opportunity to exhibit the work of 2020/2021.
