The contemporary art world calls upon artists to consistently question how we might expand upon standard definitions of a given medium and discover new modes of art-making. Hosted by the Akron Painting & Drawing League, Everything but the Kitchen Sink features a number of artists across multiple disciplines from the Myers School of Art at the University of Akron. Each of these students challenge the boundaries of their respective mediums, consistently seeking new, innovative ways of making. The goal of this exhibition is to highlight and encourage the explorative nature of a fine arts degree. Everything but the Kitchen Sink celebrates this embrace of possibility and invites visitors to contemplate new avenues for how ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, photography, painting, drawing, etc. may interact with one another and combine to create a truly unique experience.
