National Collage Society 25th Annual Small-Format Exhibition

National Collage Society 25th Annual Small-Format Exhibition

Transition Gallery

The National Collage Society hosts a small-format exhibition each year featuring postcard-sized collages created by its members from across the United States. This is the 25th anniversary of the exhibition, which was originally called the Postcard Show.

Juror’s Statement:

I am honored to jury the 25th Annual Post Card Exhibit for the National Collage Society. Collage offers artists unparalleled abilities to express concepts, designs, and lend a sense of texture that isn’t possible otherwise. The breadth of entries in this year’s annual exhibit demonstrates this and serves as an exemplary example of the many talented individuals working in collage around the world. The fifteen works I’ve chosen as notable mention stood out for very different reasons. For some, it was bold subject matter that aligns with our current, political moment that aims to call out injustice. For others, unconventional compositions, palettes, or materials confidently set them apart. I must admit, however, that the decision was quite hard, and all entries merit celebration. Here’s to the next 25 years for the National Collage Society, and the much-deserved attentiveness the organization brings to this often understated yet challenging and highly rewarding form of artmaking.
