George Erwin

In 1964 after graduating from Norton High School, he received a scholarship for the Cooper Institute of Art in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1989 he graduated with a Manufacturing degree from The University of Akron. After 31 years, he retired from the Babcock & Wilcox Company in Barberton, Ohio. By working in Quality Assurance for over 20 years, he drew sketches of damaged parts, etc. Drawing sketches prepared him for his artwork for today.

In 2014 he became a certified art teacher by Wilson Bickford (WBTT). At the Land of Cleve Awards, he was among the recipients for the Collective Top Artists Award for the Barberton Gallery of Fine Arts, in Barberton, Ohio. In 2017, Spectrum Cable Springfield Lakemore, Ohio asked if he wanted his own TV show. The George Erwin‘s Art Show was created for the community. In 2022, his first solo art exhibition was called Paradigm Wanderings, at the White Rabbit Galleries, Barberton, Oh 44203.

He has been recognized in his succession of abstract projects in galleries that led to the creation of his “Reversed Impressionistic” art form. His concentration today includes teaching abstract workshops at Peninsula Art Academy, in Peninsula, Ohio, and at the White Rabbit Galleries, 571 W. Tuscarawas Ave. Barberton, Oh 44203. His current vision also includes Professional Development with the Summit Artspace in Akron Ohio. George looks forward in creating exhibits with his unique style which revitalizes his inner feelings from years ago and making abstract perception fun and easy.
