About the Artist

“I focus primarily on a hybrid digital/traditional dry media technique that looks like a highly textured pastel/chalk drawing.
Ohio native plants and wildlife inspire me, as well as the interaction of light and shadow, creating a magical or mysterious quality. Being an Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist, I stylize nature in a recognizable way and give an accurate portrayal
of habitats.”

Why Summit Artspace?

“I rented a studio space at Summit Artspace because I missed the community of artists I had worked with, and the structure and focus my job provided before retirement. At Summit Artspace I have a designated space away from home to work, a means to show and sell my art without commission, and public hours to engage the public. The other studio artists encourage me and give me information about materials, resources, and exhibit and sales opportunities. Summit Artspace promotes my art through ArtWalks, opportunities to show my art in the building, and the website, always being open to new ideas about how best to support the artists.”
