The Gallery Sitter is responsible for welcoming visitors, taking attendance, providing helpful information regarding exhibitions and programs to visitors, and opening and closing the Summit Artspace Gallery on specified days. The Gallery Sitter will be provided with a thorough understanding of the artists whose work is on display.
EXPECTATIONS:
- Greets and welcomes visitors to the Gallery
- Provides visitors with information on artists and artwork
- Keeps inventory of gallery materials; replenishes as necessary
- Tracks and records visitor attendance
- Answers visitor questions & record comments and concerns
- Facilitates gallery sales
- Opens and closes the gallery
ABILITIES:
- Demonstrates effective listening, comprehension and writing skills
- Pays attention to details and double checks for accuracy
- Accomplishes tasks with a sense of urgency
- Seeks solutions and requires little supervision
- Relates well to others, is open and friendly
- Maintains a positive and respectful attitude
HOURS:
Variable; must be available evenings and weekends when exhibits are open Thursdays and Fridays from 12-7 pm and Saturdays from 12-5 pm; Opening receptions on Fridays from 5-8 pm;
Artwalks on the first Saturday of each month from 5-8 pm (for gallery hours)
