DESCRIPTION:Open for Business showcases art by the most recent participants in the Artist as an Entrepreneur Institute at Summit Artspace. AEI is a partnership among Summit Artspace\, Arts Cleveland and the Burton D. Morgan Foundation which funds the annual program. \nOPEN FOR BUSINESS IS WHERE THEY WANT TO BE\nAEI is open to individuals who are interested in or are already becoming entrepreneurs in the creative arts\, including but not limited to visual art\, music\, theatre\, dance\, and writing.  Participants receive foundational business knowledge and hands-on training as part of the curriculum in this multi-week course. \nArtists also have the opportunity to meet with and learn from successful creative entrepreneurs in Akron and the surrounding area. In addition to the class curriculum\, participants receive the benefits of a supportive peer group and the exchange of unique perspectives on growing their creative business.  The Open for Business show is the capstone project for the 2019-2020 cohort that concluded at the beginning of the global pandemic. \nYOUR VISIT TO OPEN FOR BUSINESS\n\nTickets are recommended but not required to visit gallery shows at Summit Artspace on East Market in Akron during public hours.\nArtists with studios in the building will each have their own open hours and guidelines.\nAll visitors are welcome to stop by without a ticket to check on open gallery times.\n\nSummit Artspace will be following state directives for social distancing. Through their kindness and generous donations to the Summit Artspace 2019 Arts Alive Awards Silent Auction\, we were able to raise funds that help support Summit Artspace’s mission to help the local art community. \nArtist Daniel Coffield of Coffield Studios\, who organized the 2019 auction\, has high hopes to make it a new tradition: “I hope that as the new Arts Alive Silent Auction and In-Kind art exhibition format grows we can continue to find new ways to network\, promote\, advocate and develop a stronger community of local artists.” \nArtists who excel in the art of generosity! DESCRIPTION:Open for Business showcases art by the most recent participants in the Artist as an Entrepreneur Institute at Summit Artspace. AEI is a partnership among Summit Artspace\, Arts Cleveland and the Burton D. Morgan Foundation which funds the annual program. \nOPEN FOR BUSINESS IS WHERE THEY WANT TO BE\nAEI is open to individuals who are interested in or are already becoming entrepreneurs in the creative arts\, including but not limited to visual art\, music\, theatre\, dance\, and writing.  Participants receive foundational business knowledge and hands-on training as part of the curriculum in this multi-week course. \nArtists also have the opportunity to meet with and learn from successful creative entrepreneurs in Akron and the surrounding area. See the winners here. \nThe art of printmaking\, with its long and enduring history\, has continued to develop and diversify well into the twenty-first century. SUMMARY:Open for Business AEI Cohort Exhibit\, Oct. 9-Nov. 7\, 2020
DESCRIPTION:Open for Business showcases art by the most recent participants in the Artist as an Entrepreneur Institute at Summit Artspace. AEI is a partnership among Summit Artspace\, Arts Cleveland and the Burton D. Morgan Foundation which funds the annual program. \nOPEN FOR BUSINESS IS WHERE THEY WANT TO BE\nAEI is open to individuals who are interested in or are already becoming entrepreneurs in the creative arts\, including but not limited to visual art\, music\, theatre\, dance\, and writing.  Participants receive foundational business knowledge and hands-on training as part of the curriculum in this multi-week course. \nArtists also have the opportunity to meet with and learn from successful creative entrepreneurs in Akron and the surrounding area.
