Kaleidoscope 2005: The Alliance for Visual Arts Holiday Show

Kaleidoscope 2005 will host the Alliance For the Visual Arts (AVA) Holiday Show from November 18th through January 7th. A Juried Show of works by members of Akron Society of Artists, Artists of Rubber City and Women’s Art League. An Opening Reception will be open to the public on Friday, November 18th from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

First place was awarded to Linda Anne Misja for her oil on board titled The Model. Second place went to Laura Ruth Bidwell for This Diamond Ring, a mixed media piece and third place was awarded to Jack Richard for his oil piece titled Pat. Honorable mentions were awarded to Richard Andres for After the Holidays (acrylic), Mark Jaroszewski for Portrait of Drew (oil pastel),  Dino Massaroni for “Idyll Pond” (oil) and George Reuter for Nude Figure (pen crayon).

Jurors of the show were Michelle Barnicky and Christoper Leeper. Barnicky received a BFA from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI with a major in sculpture. Following tree years as the Exhibition and Collection Coordinator at the Artists Archives of the Western Reserve, she is now self-employed as a designer and artist. Leeper is an adjunct professor at Youngstown State University and is the winner of the OWS Gold Medal of Honor for 2004 and 2005. He is also Vice President of Ohio Watercolor Society.
