Fresh Art 2014: 10th Annual Juried Show

The 10th Fresh Art Annual juried show opens Friday, March 7th at Summit Artspace Gallery.  It attracts unique works in a wide variety of media by both emerging young artists and established art professionals.  The exhibition is sponsored by the SUMMA FOUNDATION and Akron Area Arts Alliance is indebted to their support for the creative in our community.  The cash prizes have served as great recognition for established artists and encouragement for emerging artists in the region.

Best Fresh AIR-Nathan Mayfield “Stick A Fork In It”

This year’s judge is Alexandra Nicholis Coon, the Executive Director of the Massillon Museum.  She has been with the Massillon Museum since 2001, serving as Museum Curator from 2003-2010.  Nicholis Coon served as adjunct faculty for Walsh University from 2006 – 2011 and is currently a committee member for the World Artists Program at SPACES Gallery in Cleveland.

Prize winners were announced at a special public reception on Friday, March 7th .
